Free Naloxone for High School Students

Open Doors Youth Reengagement Programs can get free naloxone to give to their high school students. The Department of Health (DOH) has special funding to work with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to provide this life-saving medicine.

Naloxone is a safe and effective drug that reverses opioid overdoses. Anyone in Washington state can get, carry, and use naloxone.

To receive free naloxone, Open Doors programs must fill out the Naloxone Program Application by March 1, 2025. After applying, a DOH staff member will contact them to discuss how to distribute and report on the naloxone. Students’ identities will not be included in any reports.

Open Doors Office Hours with Department of Health: Dec 10th at 2 pm

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) will join the OSPI office hours meeting on Tuesday, December 10th, to answer your questions about naloxone use and program applications.

Expert staff will be available from 2:00 –2:30 pm. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about overdose prevention, naloxone, and related topics.

Note: This one-time office hours session is a special arrangement with Department of Health and will not be the standard office hours moving forward.
